Steven is the managing partner at Amberlake. He specialises in litigation and corporate advisory and is highly experienced in stakeholder management in complex litigation cases across industries. With his vision and leadership, he was able to establish and consistently manage one of the largest Chinese practices in Sydney.

Steven has over 20 years of extensive legal and corporate experience in Australia and abroad. He began his career as an associate to the late D.F Rofe QC at 12th Floor Wentworth Chambers and assisted Senior Counsel in numerous test cases across jurisdictions in areas of constitutional and administrative, insurance, and maritime law as well as general commercial litigation. He has worked in two national firms in litigation before joining a global funds management company as an associate director and legal counsel where he acted for large Asian institutional clients investing in Australia.

He returned to China towards the end of 2012 and took on senior management positions in two well-known Chinese multinational conglomerates and expanded his experience in leadership roles in the areas of automobile manufacturing, land development, and investment advisory. He returned to Australia towards the end of 2017 and continued his career in the legal profession with a better and more in-depth understanding of corporate dealings and created a unique practice in conducting transactions and resolving disputes.

He is currently advising major Chinese corporations, insurance companies, ASX listed companies, large scale manufacturers and distributors, ultra-high-net-worth individuals from commercial contracts to dispute resolution and is highly regarded for his unique skills and experience in dealing with complex and intricate matters.
